Access and Associated Services

Silcar via its Communications business unit is a prime contractor to Telstra for Access and Associated Services in its customer access network. This includes:

Access network design, including:

    - New housing estate infrastructure (for both copper & FTTP based networks)
    - Access network renewal
    - Pre-wiring new housing developments
    - Land access compliance

Telephony installation & repairs

HFC network based broadband service installations & repairs

Cable placement

Civil works including trenching, cable ploughing and underground boring

Installation of transmission and switching systems

Testing and commissioning of assets and cutovers of end-users

Large “pair gain” system design and construction

Access network element installation and commissioning

Material/cable recovery.

Silcar Communications has been continuously undertaking work of this scope in similar contracts for Telstra since 1999 in various locations in QLD, NSW, SA, NT and WA.
